Muhammad Shahrukh

I have an enduring curiosity about why good people go bad, how institutions lose their way, and how moral decay takes hold within a society so quietly that few notice until it is too late. I enjoy reading and writing about institutions and the people entrusted with protecting them, and how checks and balances fail.

I write because it is how I make sense of the world. I shudder at the thought of arriving at the conclusion that moral decay is inevitable, that every institution is destined to lose its way, and that every attempt to build something good merely delays the inevitable. I hope not to reach that conclusion. So I keep searching.

Pakistani to my very core, I live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with my wife and son. I also remain unshaken in my belief that Test cricket is God's finest gift to mankind, and hope to live long enough to see the whole world finally admit it
